A lot of books and blogs on writing don't dive into the core of storytelling. They instead talk about things like what words sound best, common story structures, what audiences seem to like- but you can't expound upon what you've learned because you haven't learned why any of it works.
Answer the following quickly with confidence:
What is a story?
What makes a story believable?
What is the relationship of characters and story?
How do we relate to different story media?
If you faltered or had no answer to any of the above, you're in the right place!
Here you can get the foundations you need to rapidly develop and expand yourself. I'm not just looking to teach you- I'm giving you the tools to teach yourself.
The theories and ideas here will radically alter your view of storytelling and increase the clarity with which you approach your writing. Writing doesn't have to be nebulous, and not only will you understand storytelling, you'll be able to crisply explain it to others.
That may sound bloated, but spend some time here and you'll agree.
Thank you for joining me, and I wish you the best in all your storytelling endeavors!
Sincerely,
Josh Powlison
